Abstrak

Industry 5.0 shifts digital transformation from technocentric efficiency toward human-centric, sustainable, and resilient industrial systems. This shift requires leadership models capable of integrating human capabilities with technology while coordinating a multigenerational workforce. This article synthesizes digital leadership characteristics associated with Millennials and Generation Z and develops a cross-generational conceptual framework for Industry 5.0. A structured narrative literature review was conducted on 16 core publications from 2014–2026, comprising 13 peer-reviewed journal articles, two conference proceedings, and one institutional report. Sources were selected for their relevance to Industry 5.0, digital/e-leadership, Millennial leadership, Generation Z leadership, and human-centric leadership, and were analyzed using comparative thematic synthesis. The findings indicate that generational differences are better interpreted as contextual tendencies rather than deterministic traits. Millennial leadership literature more frequently emphasizes collaboration, development, and feedback, whereas Generation Z literature highlights autonomy, digital fluency, and positive responses to authentic and transformational leadership. The article’s conceptual contribution is the Hybrid Intergenerational Digital Leadership (HIDL-5.0) framework, which integrates human-centricity, digital fluency, relational trust, ambidextrous coordination, and responsible adaptability through cross-generational learning and reciprocal mentoring.
